Ancient vs Modern: Isn't it stupid to think who is better?

In Semester 1, we had an online discussion on Ancient vs Modern: Isn't it stupid to think who is better?

I think it is impossible to give an exact answer that who is better ancient or modern. Both are equally necessary.  Ancients give us the idea of what not to repeat in the modern time. It is connected through past and present. As we say that from our mistakes done in past we try not to repeat in present. Trees get new leaves in spring season but it doesn't get a new trunk. Likewise Ancients are the trunk and the Moderns are the new leaves . Both are equally necessary.

After reading the article I would like to say that the Moderns should respect the sentiments of the Ancients. Same way the Ancients also should move forward with changes around them. They should not get stuck in their old ideas. They should also accept new ideas. Whenever I try to teach any technology to my mother she always tells a gujarati saying " pakka ghade katha no chade". I think the Ancients should atleast try to adopt new Modern way of living.
