“Veronika decides to die” by Paulo Coelho kept me busy these days. As a fan of Paulo Coelho’s writing, I stumbled upon this book on Flipkart and was captivated by the major questions it asks about life and death. “Decides” is the key word in the title of this book. It is a story of a young girl who fails to die and leads to journey to discover the importance of living life to the fullest.

Inspired by his events from the past, the writer tells us the story of veronika. She is a girl of 24 and has everything she could wish for, yet she is not happy. She takes an overdose of sleeping pills, and wakes up at local hospital. There she comes to know that she is alive, but there are very few days left with her.

The story is about realisation that every second of existence is choice we all make between living and dying. Every moment in our lives is special and precious. It is not such a long book. It weighs in at about 200 pages, but it does make one feel grateful to be alive. I would recommend it to everyone. I believe it has the power to draw people away from that dark thought. Existence is a gift, a blessing.

"RIP"; Rest in Peace those who are Alive....

Hello Friends, After a long time I am writing here. Hope you all are fine. This time I have come up with a different interpretation of the phrase “RIP”. Mostly this phrase “RIP”; Rest in Peace is used for the people who are no more. We use this phrase to give sympathy towards the departed soul. The soul may get peace wherever it travels. No one exactly knows where the soul travels. Sometimes this phrase is used out of care and sometimes just for show off on social media. While sitting alone near a cemetery, a thought struck in my mind. Why do we use RIP only for dead people????? We can also use it for those who are alive. Many time people use RIP when a person is dead. The same people might have harassed the dead person when he is alive. So what’s the point of “RIP”? Suppose in the day time you behave very badly with someone. Is he/she going to get sound and peaceful sleep at night? The dead person will never come back so we just say “RIP”. Of course ever...

It is anthology of poems compiled for the students of English literature in the B.A courses of Indian Universities. Hello friends, I would like to share a poem “The Nymph’s Reply to the Shepherd” by Sir Walter Raleigh. I studied this poem during my graduation. Sir Walter Raleigh was an English landed gentleman, writer, poet, soldier, politician, courtier, spy and explorer. Raleigh was one of the most notable figures of the Elizabethan era. Before knowing something about this poem, it is necessary to read the poem “The Passionate Shepherd to His Love” by Christopher Marlowe. Sir Walter Raleigh wrote this poem as a reply to Christopher Marlowe's poem, “The Passionate Shepherd to His Love” . Let us see both the poems together.
