"Raat Rani " Modern Love Mumbai - Introductory blog to understand the word "Independence" #Semester3
Independence was a dream before 1947. A collective dream for the People of India. After Independence comes the major question of Women’s Independence. Though we trace back to history we will find nowhere men and women were treated alike and assigned the same status. Women have been always fighting for their rights and position in society. When we try to define Independence, we might get various meanings.
According to Merriam- Webster dictionary, Independent means
not dependent: such as
(1) not subject to control by others
As discussed in the classroom, the idea of Independence differs for everyone. For each individual at every point of life, the meaning will change. Before looking at the meaning of Independence for women at the time of 1947, let us watch what it is the meaning in contemporary times with "Modern Love Mumbai".

•Read the women characters in the movie.
Compare the idea of freedom in the film.
Post- Viewing Task:-
List down the contradictory symbols you observed in the episode “Raat Rani”.
Which is your favorite symbol from Raat Rani? Why?
Which is your favorite frame from the episode? Why?
Compare and write a note on all the women characters from Raat Rani.
“Courage is Contagious” – Give an example for this from the episode.
Share a picture of yours with a women who is your source of courage. Give a creative title to it.
Prepare a blog on the Post-Viewing Task and submit the link of your blog in the Google Classroom.
