"Kitna achha hota..agar acid bikta hi nahi.. milta hi nahi toh...fikta bhi nahi"

If Gulzarji is the soothing full moon of words, then Meghna Gulzar is the bright sunshine of direction. Once again she amazes us with her 7th outstanding movie #Chhapaak. Being an ardent fan of Meghna Gulzar, couldn't afford to miss this movie. With her hard work she beautiful manages her own identity and the person attached with her. Not everyone can do justice with the inheritance people get.

Chhapaak is based on a real story of Laxmi Agarwal is an Indian acid attack survivor, a campaigner for rights of acid attack victims and a TV host.

Laxmi Agarwal was attacked in 2005 at an age of 15, by a 32-year-old man named Naeem Khan, whose romantic advances she had refused. She has since established grassroots campaigns for tackling the surge of acid attacks; one of her petitions had led the Supreme Court to order the central and state governments to regulate the sale of acid, and the Parliament to enable easier prosecutions of acid attack perpetrators.

When it comes to the star cast of the film. Deepika Padukone, an actress par excellence brings out the emotions of an acid attack survivor on screen in such a real way. Her effort and exactness can be perceived in her acting. After Alia Bhatt she does justice to a very challenging role offered by Meghna Gulzar.
Vikrant Messy as an intense angry young man, is truly remarkable.

The storyline is to the point. Nothing is over excessive in the movie.

The whole movie comes up with an idea of spreading awareness about the acid attack, even after the verdict of banning or regulating Acid. Still it is freely brought and sold. As per the film the latest real acid attack was noted on 7th December 2019, just before a month.

This movie also highlights a thought provoking question about law in India. The victim has to go through a fight of a long period for justice. Sometimes the victim gets justice after her death. Practical formulation and some strict rules should be imposed by the judiciary.

If we look at the film in more deep way, we will find that it is about mindset of society. The film clearly mentions that the girls who either wanted to study or growing in her field, or is denying something...are attacked. They are attacked as they are moving beyond the structure designed by the society.

Acid Attack is also a metaphor which reflects all brutal acts that happened and are happening in the society. Acid is a metaphor of troll, rape, humiliation, character certificate, insult, force, judgmental gossip and every such hateful thing knitted around a women. The intensity of the pain may differ, but the intention remains the same.

It is necessary to break this structure of society. It is important to respect women, learn to listen 'NO', it is ok to fail and lose, and someone can do better than you...try to appreciate. There are some things that need unlearning and relearning. Not only men, but everyone as a part of the society. It is not that men are never attacked but women are attacked more in comparison.

The boycotting of the film is actually a big success of this film. That is what the movie highlights that a small word EGO when it gets hurt, does something which is not good.
Boycotting and banning is not new in the country. The article which talks about freedom of expression in art is a myth. Why don't people understand that a piece of art comes with an awareness, which should be celebrated rather than banning or boycotting.
The story is not about Deepika Padukone as an individual, but it is a story of all the women like Laxmi who has or are facing such incidents in their life. This film gives a strong message for the society.

The Trio  Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy’s  music and stunning lyrics by the gem himself, Gulzarji is an add on to the masterpiece.

एक चेहरा गिरा
जैसे मोहरा गिरा
जैसे धूप को ग्रहण लग गया
छपाक से पहचान ले गया.....

Don't miss out this film!!!

"RIP"; Rest in Peace those who are Alive....

Hello Friends, After a long time I am writing here. Hope you all are fine. This time I have come up with a different interpretation of the phrase “RIP”. Mostly this phrase “RIP”; Rest in Peace is used for the people who are no more. We use this phrase to give sympathy towards the departed soul. The soul may get peace wherever it travels. No one exactly knows where the soul travels. Sometimes this phrase is used out of care and sometimes just for show off on social media. While sitting alone near a cemetery, a thought struck in my mind. Why do we use RIP only for dead people????? We can also use it for those who are alive. Many time people use RIP when a person is dead. The same people might have harassed the dead person when he is alive. So what’s the point of “RIP”? Suppose in the day time you behave very badly with someone. Is he/she going to get sound and peaceful sleep at night? The dead person will never come back so we just say “RIP”. Of course ever

“My friend, the things that do attain” - Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey.

Hello friends, I would like to share a poem which I studied during my graduation. The title of the poem is “My friend, the things that do attain”. It is written by Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey. Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey (1516/1517 – 19 January 1547), was an English aristocrat, and one of the founders of English Renaissance poetry. MY friend, the things that do attain The happy life be these, I find: The riches left, not got with pain; The fruitful ground; the quiet mind; The equal friend; no grudge; no strife; No charge of rule, nor governance; Without disease, the healthy life; The household of continuance; The mean diet, no dainty fare; Wisdom joined with simpleness; The night discharged of all care, Where wine the wit may not oppress: The faithful wife, without debate; Such sleeps as may beguile the night; Content thyself with thine estate, Neither wish death, nor fear his might. In the above mentioned poem, there is a list

" The Winged Word"- David Green

In my Graduation syllabus, I had a book named “ The Winged word”. This anthology is edited by David Green. It is anthology of poems compiled for the students of English literature in the B.A courses of Indian Universities. The chronological order, in which the poets are arranged in this book, helps the students to note the development of English poetry from one age to another. Referring to this book after a long time span, gives me a immense joy. There are many poems in this book. We were given some selected poems to study during three years of graduation. The poems which were in my syllabus are as follow:-    1.)   I Find No Peace – Sir Thomas Wyatt (1503-42)    2.) My Friend, the Things That Do Attain –Henry Howard (1517- 47)    3.) The Nymph’s Reply to the Shepherd –Sir Walter Ralegh (1552-1618)    4.) The Nightingale – Sir Philip Sidney (1554- 86)    5.) Since There’s No Help – Michael Drayton (1563- 1613)    6.) Sonnet No.116 – Willi
