Harry Potter - J.K.Rowling.

Harry Potter is a series of fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the life of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's struggle against Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to become immortal, overthrow the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic.

Here is my response according to my understanding:-
1)      The theme of Love and Death: How does Harry Potter make use of age old theme of Love of the dead as well as living as protecting armour? How does Harry Potter deal with the concept of Death as something inevitable?

Harry’s mother died to save Harry from Voldemort. And in doing so she gave Harry a shield of her love for protection. Harry lived as protecting armour till the end. In few years of joining Hogwarts, Harry found out that he was destined to kill Voldemort on day as it was written in a Prophecy. He got many chances to run away and many offers of friendship from Voldemort to join him, but he chooses otherwise. He stayed as protecting armour for the people who expected him to be with them from the dark time.
In this way we can say that he loves his mother a lot who is dead and helps other people as protecting armour. We see that Harry is never afraid of death. He completes all the adventurous bravely. Seeing his courage we can say that he deals positively with the concept of death something as inevitable.

2.) Feminist reading of Harmione’s character in Harry Potter: How do the character portrayal of Harmione and other female characters support feminist discourse?

Harmione is very intellectual and confident girl. She is one of the best witches of her year. Thought coming from a Muggle family, she enters the school with all the knowledge of Wizardry world and is constantly eager to learn new things and she puts it into practice. She accompanies Harry and Ron in all the adventures. Though being portrayed as an intelligent girl then also we can find some problem in her portrayal. She is used as an object of rivalry between Ron and Harry. Still her portrayal is not that problematic as compared to other female characters.

3.) Children’s Literature and Harry Potter: How far does J K Rowling transcends the canonical confines of children’s literature and claims the heights of ‘real’ literature?

Literature has the capacity to make any human capable of facing the hard times in life and also beat the hard times and come out positively.
Also children’s literature should have the content to make the kids want to read rather than being forced to read. Also it increases curiosity among the readers. The series also touches the situations and feelings that the children can relate to.

"RIP"; Rest in Peace those who are Alive....

Hello Friends, After a long time I am writing here. Hope you all are fine. This time I have come up with a different interpretation of the phrase “RIP”. Mostly this phrase “RIP”; Rest in Peace is used for the people who are no more. We use this phrase to give sympathy towards the departed soul. The soul may get peace wherever it travels. No one exactly knows where the soul travels. Sometimes this phrase is used out of care and sometimes just for show off on social media. While sitting alone near a cemetery, a thought struck in my mind. Why do we use RIP only for dead people????? We can also use it for those who are alive. Many time people use RIP when a person is dead. The same people might have harassed the dead person when he is alive. So what’s the point of “RIP”? The Mountains are calling and I must go… Recently I had a delightful experience of visiting Junagadh for Academic tour organized by Department of English, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University. Being a Research Scholar and a Faculty member, this was my first tour in a different role. It is said that a physician treats but nature heals. It is absolutely true. Stuck in health issues for so many months, and finally the mountains were calling and I had to go. I feel rejuvenate after this trip. The best part about academic tour is that you not only visit historical and important places, but you visit so many academic Institutions, meet so many learned teachers and students. This tour was planned for two days; 5 th and 6 th February. We started on 5 th early morning and were back on 6 th at night.
